More About Me!

I started my painting journey with acrylics at the age of 12. I didn't paint very much, but I enjoyed doing it when I had to find a creative alternative for a school project. Eventually I fell in love with it in junior year of high school, and switched over to oils, as I preferred their blend-ability. I've always been an abstract painter, and oil paints helped me gain my sense of creative freedom back! For my first year of AP Art class I chose a sustained investigation of exploring my self-identity. Something I've learned is that this internal investigation never stops; I'm always figuring out more about myself. For my senior year AP Art class, I chose to continue off of this narrative, but add in some challenges: I have no plan or color scheme picked out for any of my paintings. I let my brain and hands to all of the work, and I let the viewer interpret the piece however they see fit. All of my pieces have key elements that give the viewer an eye into my life and my brain.
